Shawn T. Lewis
Shawn Lewis, a native New Yorker, is a Veteran of the Submarine Force who joined the United States Navy in June 1991 and retired after 23 years of service in July 2014 as a Chief Petty Officer. While on active duty, Shawn led 6 divisions as the Torpedo Division Chief, where his primary responsibility was leading Sailors, managing the ships compliment of conventional ordnance, and directing maintenance efforts of conventional ordnance launching systems, the ships compliment of small arms and ammunition, and the ships anchoring system. His experience in professional development includes managing the command Drug & Alcohol Program, serving as the Weapons Department Career Counselor, and mentoring instructors as a Master Training Specialist.
In the career services space, his background includes mentoring service men and women in managing their careers, assisting Transitioning Service Members and their families in navigating their way back into the business community, and aiding various businesses and organizations in understand how to successfully recruit and retain veterans. Presently, Shawn volunteers with Vets2Industry as the Volunteer Coordinator. He interviews its volunteer force and places them in teams that will not only enhance their professional development, but also benefit Vets2Industry. Additionally, Shawn is pursuing several certifications including the Global Career Development Facilitator, and Certified Veteran Career Strategist establishing his expertise as a Veteran career coach and mentor.
Shawn resides in Camden County, GA, which is just north of Jacksonville, FL. with his wife Jackie and daughters Shawna and Samantha. Avid Spades players, Shawn and Jackie have enjoyed the game and been partners for 30 years.
